Pinot Noir from MarlboroughWine review: Saint Clair Block 15 Pinot Noir Marlborough

A delicious bright red plum colour, quite extracted, but still light enough to be able to see your fingers through it. The rich sweet cherry fruit dominate the senses. The palate is full, if not a bit flabby and a tad too sweet. The finish is long with good depth of flavour. Very soft and easy drinking, this Marlborough Pinot Noir would ideally suit lamb dishes.

However, saying all that I have said, the wine drank much better 2 days after being opened. The fruit juice sweetness disappeared and the real essence of the wine shone through. This is the problem having reviewed on opening the bottle and not seeing them at their best.
