I also really enjoyed this wine. In the end, other people’s views on food and drink are largely irrelevant as personal taste, by its very nature, varies from person to person.

As a NZ-wine-loving Brit I’m surprised you think there’s a lack of shelf space here for NZ wines. I’m finding more than ever, and certainly way more than I see in the US or in other European countries. There’s still a lot of room for improvement but big nationwide chains like Majestic have a substantial amount of their shelf space dedicated to NZ.
I think you do have a point about the price though. I read somewhere a couple of years ago that the average price spent per bottle for NZ wine in the UK was higher than for wines from any other country. Combine this with the fact that NZ wines continue to be so popular over here and I think it’s a testament to the quality of NZ wine.

What an odd review. I tried millions of white whines and never liked anything..in fact.. would never take more than 2 sips… then I tried THIS wine and I fell in love. Not sweet at all (No idea what you meant by saying “poured like syrup” and “sugar”), extraordinary citrus taste with a hint of pepper. I never tasted anything like it. I tried cheap wines, expensive wines, lot’s of wines of New Zealand but this one is just great for me. LOVE IT. I must say that when I read your review I was pretty sure your tried some lost bottle of something else that happened to be labeled with Holmes Point. I just can not believe that our taste buds are SO DIFFERENT.
