Bargain Wine: John Forrest Collection Riesling 2005 Marlborough

Marlborough RieslingThis is the first true bargain for a while. Wine prices have been rising and therefore there has been less truly great bargains on the market. I hope this one suits you.

Made by one of Marlborough’s best aromatic producers. This wine normally retails for over $50 and is now available for under $19. Made from grapes grown on the Wairau Valley, only the best quality grapes get made into ‘Collection’ wines.

Made in an off-dry style, sure it’s not going to suit everyone, but those whose try it will be impressed. With the wine being closed under screwcap, it’s as fresh as a daisy, with pure citrus fruit, a dash of stone fruit, and voluptuous sweetness and racy acid.

Drink now or cellar for the next ten years.

Don’t trust me, Bob Campbell gave it 93/100 Points.
