2008 Old School Single Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir
First day back and the wine that I’m recommending is a blinder. Usually found on the shelves for $42 or more, this wine has good pedigree. The wineries loss, unfortunately, is your gain. From the Tarras region of Central Otago.
90/100 from Parkers Wine Advocate and 4 1/2 Stars from M.Cooper who writes “The 2008 vintage is a single vineyard red, grown at Tarras ( a much cooler site than Bendigo, 10kms away ), and matured in French oak barriques ( 30% new ). Deeply coloured, it is sweet fruited, with strong cherry/ spice flavours, warm and savoury. It’s a dense, rich Central Otago wine with good presence.” Parkers Wine Advocate ( 90/100 ) writes “The impressive 2008 The Steppes Pinot Noir is Alpine fresh and beautifully defined on the bouquet that effuses “Pinot”
So don’t just take my word for it!
