Another blow for NZ wine industry

Hawke's Bay wineOn 5th September the workers of Matariki wines turned up to work only to find that Matariki Wines had been put into liquidation. The doors were closed and no one allowed into work. This is a further blow to the Hawke’s Bay wine industry. Earlier Villa Maria had announced that they had just acquired both Te awa and Kidnapper Cliffs vineyards and wineries.

With more wineries facing tough times, with high excise duty and exchange rates being to take their toll. The New Zealand wine industry looks set to get smaller.
